LOADING DOCK BUMPERS
Dock bumpers are designed to protect the loading dock, building and equipment from impact by docking trailers. Weighing in at well over 40,000 lbs., a fully loaded trailer can cause costly damage to the dock if the shock is not absorbed by properly applied bumpers. No two loading docks are the same. Dock bumpers are available as a molded rubber material or as a laminated layer of rubber strips.
STEEL FACED LAMINATED DOCK BUMPERS
The strongest form of loading dock impact protection! For use at medium to high use docks. For use where severe abrasion from up and down trailer movement is experienced (air-ride trailers, yard jockeys, etc.) and in any material handling application where the greatest dock protection is required.
Material & Specifications:
- “Gliding” heavy-duty steel face is 3/8” thick and independently anchored with elongated holes to face of bumper, allowing bumper to compress AND offer high surface abrasion resistance.
- Bumper is fastened to dock surface through its ¼” steel side angles and/or flat plates depending on the model chosen.
- Wall mounting hole size is 1” diameter.
LAMINATED RUBBER DOCK BUMPERS
A good quality impact absorber and durable method for protecting low to medium use docks.
Applications:
Laminated rubber dock bumpers are for use in low to medium traffic loading docks in factories and warehouses. Can be used as rub rails at the sides of truck wells. Customized construction features can accommodate unusual anchoring conditions (i.e. flat plate on one side for welding to dock leveler curb angle). Wall protection to absorb forklift impacts
Material & Specifications:
- Fabric reinforced rubber pads cut from recycled truck tires.
- Rubber pads laminated between steel angles and secured with 3/4” rods
- Bumper is fastened to dock surface with 3/8” steel angles and/or flat plates depending on the model chosen.
- Wall mounting hole size is 1” diameter.
MOLDED DOCK BUMPERS

Applications:
For use in low to medium traffic loading docks in factories and warehouses. Can be used as rub rails at the sides of truck wells. Wall protection to absorb fork lift impacts.
Material & Specifications:
- Reinforced prime rubber of Durometer 75 (±5) (ASTM D2240).
- 98% (±2) impact recovery.
- 8.3 N/mm2 (±0.5) Tensile Strength (ASTM D792).
- 500% (±20) Elongation (ASTM D792).
- 1.1 g/cm3 (±0.1) Density (ASTM D412C).
- All molded bumpers have pre-drilled, countersunk mounting holes for easy installation, sized to accept Ø3/4″ anchor.
- 2”, 3”, 4” or 6” projection. If other projections are required, please reference “Dock Bumper Bracketing”
- Horizontal or vertical (vertical generally offers the best protection)
